Cabin
Class Painting was founded in 1990 after Daniel May saw the need
for a hard working, responsible painting contractor that could be
trusted by all age groups to come into their home and do work over
extended periods of time, depending on the size of the job. “People
are just leery of who they are inviting into their homes in this
day and age”, says Dan, “especially the seasoned citizens
out there. They like knowing that I come with pedigree papers”. |
| |
|
What’s
Dan mean by that? When Dan was 9 years old, his father taught him
the painting trade. Dan opened his own painting business when he graduated
high school, and he painted his way to his flying career. Dan flew
as a captain on corporate jets out of Akron Canton Airport for 12
years and retired from it so he could spend more time with family.
He reopened his painting business as Cabin Class Painting, thus allowing
him to stay in town during his daughters’ formative years. “Flying
was fun, but the painting business has allowed me to meet so many
people on a business level and then beautify their homes while I turned
these customers into friends”.

and his family have been residents of Manchester for 20 years. His
wife, Linda, is a special education teacher in the Coventry school
system. They have three daughters, Lindsay, Logan, and Taylor. Lindsay
and Logan attend Walsh University in Canton, and Taylor attends Manchester
High School. They are members of St. Francis de Sales parish in Coventry,
where Dan has served on Parish Council for 3 years and has coached
girl’s volleyball for 4 championship seasons out of 5. |
|
| Dan
takes pride in the fact that he has earned the trust of so many in
his local area over the years, that his business has expanded many
times over from word of mouth alone. His “repeat or referral” business
makes up 75% of work that Cabin Class Painting performs. “That
is just an unheard of percentage for any business,” says Dan. “My
clients sometimes call me for things totally unrelated to painting
because they know if I don’t have the solution, I usually know
somebody that I trust, who does…and if I trust them, my clients
know they can take it to the bank.” |

|
|
| Dan
strives for perfection and instills the same qualities in his employees
that are expected of him. He increases his knowledge of application
techniques, products and finishes as they become available. |

| Now,
almost 15 years later, he is providing the same quality service with
a wider range of services. Make sure you take a look at what his clients
are saying about his work! |
